What's Controlled
    • Pythium Damping-Off
    • Pythium Blight

How it Works

Banol
® is absorbed rapidly by upward movement through leaf, stem and root tissues, and supplied quickly to the entire plant. Its special multi-site mode of action changes the permeability of the Pythium cell membranes, destroying the cell wall and preventing spore germination.

Being systemic, Banol moves quickly up within the plant to provide long, effective residual control that can’t be washed off. As a curative, it attacks the cell membranes of mycelium and disrupts the normal growth of the fungi. As a preventive, it acts as a powerful barrier to fungal infection.

FAQ

Q: What product or products do you recommend rotating with Banol?

A: While there's never been a documented case of Pythium resistance with Banol, we suggest rotating
Banol with Chipco® Signature fungicide – neither has any resistance history. Signature is also frequently used by superintendents for their summer stress programs. It has been proven to activate the plant’s natural immune system, enhancing cool- and warm-season turf’s ability to ward off disease.

Q: What if Pythium is present but not yet visible?
A: Banol will cure it. Banol's multi-site mode of action sets up a barrier to Pythium spores on the surface of the plant, preventing infection. Along with its well-known curative properties, the effect is to stop the disease, especially if it is present but not noticeable. Because its action is systemic, Banol will continue to protect grasses from future outbreaks and reduce the effect of high disease pressure.
