Control & Residual
Banol® is a systemic fungicide that is the most reliable, effective cure (and preventative) for Pythium. Because it uses a multisite mode of action, Banol has never had a documented case of Pythium resistance. Also, Banol provides insurance for a successful transition of overseeded turf to maintain a playable surface. It includes broad-spectrum control of many Pythium species associated with damping off, blight, and crown and root rot. If used early, the chances of a later outbreak with resulting turf injury are reduced substantially.
Testimonials
Steve Kincer battles textbook Pythium conditions for much of the year at the 54-hole Ocean Ridge Plantation course he oversees. To control this tough disease on his bentgrass greens, he follows an aggressive preventative fungicide program that keeps his coastal North Carolina course in top condition.
“From the first of May through mid-September, we spray a Banol and Daconil® tank mix every three to four weeks, rotated with other fungicides. Then we switch to a curative program for the rest of the year. We haven’t seen any Pythium here for the last seven years, which I believe is largely due to Banol. Banol works quicker to control Pythium than some other fungicides, which is really important with a fast-moving disease like Pythium. We’ve really been satisfied with the quality of our putting surfaces.”Steve Kincer, superintendent, Ocean Ridge Plantation, Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
“For 10 years running, it delivers more power and reliable protection from tee to green.”Tony Girardi, Rickrimmon Country Club, Standford, Connecticut
